Happy Bloggy Birthday to me….

by Yvonne

Can it really be a whole year since my very first post? Time has really flown and so many things have happened, some are milestones and others just little bits of life that have been great to share with you. Thank you to all my lovely followers and comment leavers for sharing this year with me… it’s been brilliant to have you along the way.

Talking of milestones….. this card was made several weeks ago when a certain young lady was taking a certain test……

unfortunately she didn’t pass that time,
……… but on Monday,

……. the test was retaken and she passed!!!! Harriet is now off on her own….. Slight problem in that we have to share the car for a while…. I’m desperately looking for a new car for me!

Rmember this last post? Well I have now finished the project and can reveal what I was up to….

Ta Dah!!!!……. It’s a jungle themed bed blanket for a customer whose Grandson is being christened in May….. I am so so pleased with this… it has turned out just as I imagined it to…..

Mr Lion crouching in the grass……
…. a big grey elephant pausing for thought… perhaps his name is Horton????
… a VERY cheeky monkey swinging through the trees…. definitely looks like he is up to mischief!!

…. and a long lanky giraffe having a little chat with Mr Toucan……

Time to wrap it up very carefully and send off to it’s new owner… hope he likes it as much as I do!

On Monday, Rosie and I took one of the most beautiful train journeys from Totnes to Exmouth. What is so lovely about this train ride is that the railway line runs right next to the sea and then the river Exe estuary for most of the journey. It is truely stunning, and also a very relaxing way to travel. I was hoping to take some photos to show you but the train was heaving on the way to Exeter in the morning and we had to sit the opposite side to the views….. you’ll have to come and try it for yourself!
Once we reached Exmouth we were picked up and taken back to Pebbles for refreshments and a walk along the beach…….

Do you remember, a few weeks ago, the news story about the multitudes of starfish that had invaded the beach at Budleigh Salterton? Well, it looks as though the invasion has continued….

Mind where you step… oh, and hold your nose… very fishy!!!

I think they are absolutely beautiful… just look at the shape and the colours… amazing….

There was a fair old breeze blowing off the sea and the waves were crashing down… lovely….
After a wonderful day walking and talking it was time to take the train home again….
… as we left Exmouth, the sun was beginning to set and what a sunset it was… just look at the reflection in the water…..
A perfect end to a perfect day….
I’m looking forward to sharing the next year with you… I do hope you will all stay for the ride.
Lots of love xxxx
