Jack….

by Yvonne
Ok… before we begin, this post comes wit a warning… you may want to go and make a cuppa before trawling through this long post! I know, it’s been ages, but… I haven’t been sitting back on my laurels, no sireee no! It’s be lots of work rest and play….

It all began two weeks ago when Harriet and I packed up Peas and headed for my favourite holiday destination in Cornwall… secretly hoping that our time away wouldn’t be as bad as the last time we were there. Harriet drove all the way… more nerve wracking for me than her!!! Actually, she did really well and and hour and a half later we arrived……

Just look at that… don’t you want to pack up and go there straight away???? It was soooo hot… guess who got sunburnt putting the tent up… typical… always telling the girls to put suncream on, and who goes and forgets???? DOH!

A short shopping trip to Padstow to get supplies and then it was back to the site for a swim in the surf…….

….. tent up, shopping done… we lit the gorgeous little pink bbq!… yes.. I know it’s smokey, but the food was yum, yum, yum!!!

Kettle on and time to sit back in the fading sun and drink a very welcome cuppa……

… followed by a stroll to the coast path to photograph the flora……
… and watch the sun set over the sea….. perfect!
The moon that night was HUGE!!! This photo doesn’t do it justice so you’ll have to believe me. The night sky at this campsite is always amazing… so clear, I just spend hours staring up at it and marveling at the hands of my Creator!
Saturday dawned, the sun was hot and the reason for our trip to Cornwall was almost on us…..

After a swim in the sea we headed off to the Eden Project…..

To see….

…. yes , you read it right…. to see Jack Johnson… whoooo hoooo!

First though, some time to wander through the gorgeous garden

Oooooo… and to lick our way through several ice creams….. (another gorgeous flower!!!)

… admire the strange sculptures…. this is WEEE man, made from all the electrical items one person is likely to throw out in their lifetime!!!

… wander the biomes and stand in awe at the beautiful plants…

Eventually it was time to find our seat on the grass in front of the stage, in anticipation of seeing.. JACK!!!

Yes… we really were there….

The sun slowly set, the lights in the trees began to twinkle, the biomes were lit by coloured lights and JACK serenaded us….. it was fantastic….

Sunday and another hot, hot day… where better to spend it than on the beach……

Ok… I just had to prove to you that I did go in the sea… it was awesome that day. We took our body boards and the waves we caught were awesome man! You could feel the pull of the waves under the water as they pulled themselves up to full height before crashing over us… it was a real workout just trying to get out far enough to catch the wave for the ride of our lives!!!! It was thrilling and soooo exciting… I just love it!

Yes… two beautiful beach babes… ahem!!!

As you can probably imagine, we left it to the last minute before packing up the tent and heading home. The whole weekend was a well needed, fantastic time away.

Ok, so I was going to tell you about my latest workshops at China Blue and Rosie’s birthday but, it’s getting late and I need my beauty sleep before a day long workshop tomorrow…. and I think that’s enough talk from me for one day!! Don’t worry though… I will be back with all the info and some more lovely pictures.

Sending you lots of love xxxx
